Commodity Manager – Plastic Injection Molding

Lead company efforts in consolidating and streamlining procurement efforts across four manufacturing plants. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, you will build relationships both internally and externally, implementing company-wide strategies to optimize spend, and ensure a stable efficient supply chain throughout the organization.

About This Job

  • The Commodity Manager will identify and execute division level commodity projects including cost reduction and contract negotiation, supplier consolidation, VMI or similar projects.
  • Identify, assess, and evaluate potential new suppliers as well as engage with supplier quality at appropriate levels.
  • You will also be responsible for negotiating long-term supplier contracts across multiple plant locations; preparing complex ROI or TOC models; and identifying and executing division level supplier consolidation for best-buying leverage.
  • The Commodity Manager will create, monitor, and manage purchase orders in association with commodity projects, VMI, or similar.
  • Prepare and present concise and timely project updates to executive team leaders.

Minimum Job Qualifications 

  • The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of purchasing experience in an ERP process manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with a large-scale ERP system and schedule modules. IQMS and Spreadsheet Server experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001, ISO 16484, or IATF certified environment.
  • The successful candidate will effectively drive change throughout the company with a positive, team-oriented mindset.
